Merck KGaA had set out to move an anti PD-1 immunotherapy through late-stage development and launch. The competition for talent at the time was intense and they needed to operate at a pace that was new to the business to secure the right talent.

Talentmark was engaged to work cross border to build the clinical development and medical affairs capabilities to support the development and launch of Avelumab. Part of the mandate was to run a global assessment of the current medical team (70 leaders) and benchmark the current medical leadership relative to 20 other firms operating in oncology therapeutics.

Key searches included the Global Head of Oncology Medical Affairs, Global and Regional Medical Affairs team, Global Clinical Development leadership plus global and regional Regulatory Affairs and Drug Safety support.
